KCEDC is actively seeking a four-year institution to expand into Kendall County.
The percentage of high school graduates in the population, 25 years or older, was 85.4%, the highest in the region. The average for Texas was 75.7%. Boerne High School has the highest percentage pass rate for all San Antonio Schools on 11th grade exams required for graduation (Spring 2004) and the highest combined 10th and 11th grade scores in 2005 and 2006. In 2006, the number of Kendall County residents with a bachelor's degree was 21.3%, also the highest in the region.
Boerne's new Esperanza Development is donating land to the City Boerne for a new Elementary and Middle school.
With a such highly educated number of youth, Kendall County will be an ideal location for a higher education institution, especially one specializing in the Medical Training field.
